Refund Policy

The short version
We don’t issue refunds for subscription payments. Cancel any time and you won’t be billed again — you keep access until the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for.
Why we structure it this way
Every new Expentro account gets a 7-day free trial with full Pro-tier access — no credit card required to start. That gives you a full week to upload receipts, generate reports, and decide whether Expentro is worth paying for, before any money changes hands.
Once you choose a paid plan, your subscription auto-renews on a monthly or annual schedule (whichever you picked). You can cancel from the Billing page at any time. Cancellation stops all future charges immediately, and you keep using paid features until the end of the current billing period.
What we will refund
We make exceptions in these cases:
- Accidental duplicate charges — if Stripe bills you twice for the same period due to a system error, we’ll refund the duplicate.
- Annual plans charged after a cancellation request— if you cancelled before the renewal date but were still charged due to a billing error on our side, we’ll refund the renewal.
- Unauthorized charges — if someone gains access to your account and starts a subscription without your knowledge, contact us right away.
What we won’t refund
- Forgetting to cancel before a renewal date. Set a calendar reminder before annual plans renew — or use monthly billing if that works better for you.
- “Didn’t use it much this month” refunds. Cancel when you stop needing it; you won’t be charged again.
- Refunds on add-ons (e.g., Hotel Receipt Processor) for the same reasons as above.
How to cancel
- Sign in to Expentro.
- Open Billing from the sidebar.
- Click Manage Subscription — that opens the Stripe Customer Portal where you can cancel, change plans, or update your payment method.
How to request a refund (for the eligible cases above)
Email support@expentro.com with:
- The email address on your Expentro account
- The date and amount of the charge
- A brief description of what happened
We aim to respond within two business days. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe and typically appear within 5–10 business days.
