What file types are supported for receipts?+
Expentro supports JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP image formats for receipt uploads. For best results, make sure the receipt text is clearly visible and the image is well-lit.
How does the AI extract receipt data?+
We use Google Gemini AI to analyze your receipt images. It automatically detects the vendor name, date, total amount, and suggests a category. You can always review and edit the extracted data before saving.
How do I export my expense reports?+
Once a report is finalized, you can download it as a PDF or Excel file from the Reports page. Click the download icon next to any report to choose your preferred format.
What are the subscription tiers and pricing?+
Expentro offers two plans: Pro ($9.99/mo) and Premium ($14.99/mo). Pro includes 30 reports per year, while Premium gives you unlimited reports. Annual billing is available at a 33% discount — $79.99/yr for Pro and $119.99/yr for Premium. New accounts start with a free 7-day Pro trial.
How do I cancel or change my plan?+
Go to the Billing page from the sidebar. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
How do I mark a report as reimbursed?+
On the Reports page, each report has a reimbursement toggle. Click it to mark a report as reimbursed. The tally banner at the top will update to reflect your total owed and reimbursed amounts.
Is there a free trial, and do I need a credit card?+
Yes. Every new account starts with a free 7-day trial with full Pro-tier access — no credit card required. You only enter payment details if you decide to subscribe after the trial.
Is my receipt and expense data secure?+
Yes. Your data is stored in Google Firebase with per-user access rules, and report files are served through authenticated, ownership-verified proxy URLs — raw storage links are never exposed. Analytics are privacy-friendly and cookie-less.
Does Expentro work for freelancers and small businesses?+
Absolutely. Expentro is built for individuals and small teams — not IT departments. Freelancers, consultants, and small-business owners use it to turn a pile of receipts into a clean, submittable expense report in minutes.
Can Expentro track mileage and per diem?+
Yes. You can set a custom per-mile rate and add mileage entries with From/To and miles — Expentro auto-calculates the amount and includes it in your report. You can also set a daily meal per diem that automatically caps meal expenses.
Can it handle hotel folios and itemized receipts?+
With the Hotel Receipt Processor add-on, Expentro breaks a hotel folio into separate line items — room charges, food & beverage, and other charges like parking — with taxes correctly allocated, so your report is itemized accurately.
What currencies does Expentro support?+
Expentro supports USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, JPY, CHF, CNY, INR, and MXN. Set your preferred currency in Settings and all amounts across the app and your reports format accordingly.
